5th Most Talented Korean Idol: Hero Jaejoong

DBSK has got to be the best vocal group today. And it makes you wonder where they will be once the group disbands. DBSK won’t be around forever. In the group, Kim Jaejoong aka Hero stands as the main vocals. The first time I notice the guys is in an arirang news segment. I think it was a news about idol groups comeback. I forgot the details. I do remember that they showed a few bits of their ‘Mirotic’ music video.

I thought at first that DBSK were just another boy group that relies on their looks to gain popularity. They were showing too much skin in the said video. Hero was the one I noticed the most. He has this charisma that Sunye and CL have. It’s like no matter how many they are on stage or even in a crowded street, you’ll notice him. I think it’s his biggest arsenal, his charisma. I think that’s also the reason why he’s always in the middle.

‘You’re My Melody’ was the reason I became a fan of them. I even put it in my Music page ’cause I want the song to receive much love. Jaejoong, being the main vocalist of the group, sang most of the parts. But it is with ‘Doshite’ that I started appreciating how well he sings. He has such nice voice. So soothing to hear. His voice is really for ballad.

I’m not really familiar with his capabilities in singing songs aside for ballads. In ‘Mirotic’, he only had a few singing lines. Xiah Junsu and Changmin were the ones most visible in the song. I think Jaejoong parts were only the beginning. So maybe Mirotic’s genre isn’t really in Hero’s resume.

I’ve searched Youtube for any of Hero’s performances and I noticed that most of the hits are actually ballads. So maybe this is his limitation. Though his charms exceeds everyone else, he doesn’t have that much variety entertainment-wise in comparison to the rest of the people in the list.

There’s four more people to go over. I think a few of you might have guessed the rankings already. It just means that you also agree with my list. I’ll just add, I think most people are already thinking of a DBSK disbandment. I also think it too. If not this year, it would be next year. The misunderstanding the group has with SM is just too complicated to go around it. Let’s just wait and see. Anyway, I’ll leave you with DBSK’s ‘Doshite’.
