Wonder Girls perform at the Wendy Williams Show

The American TV debut of the Wonder Girls happened today at the Wendy Williams Show. As usual they were great. And they were very synchronize indeed. I really miss them performing in front of the audience instead of around them. It’s not that I didn’t like their performance at the Jonas Brothers’ Concert, you just won’t appreciate the choreography much when done like that.

This is a big feat for the Wonder Girls and for asian entertainment. I think the reason why they’re doing much better than Se7en or BoA, popularity wise, is that they’re giving something new to the American public. BoA is known as the asian Britney Spears, but when you go to America, they have Britney Spears. There’s redundancy in the image.

I’m genuinely happy for the Wonder Girls. I hope they’ll keep doing well. Aja! Fighting!

2NE1 dominates online charts

Here are the online charts for the week. As you can see, 2NE1 is giving SNSD a run for their money. I’m now very curious if SNSD can repeat their ‘Gee’ success now that they have serious competitions. People who bought the ‘Gee’ album were not all avid fans but people who just enjoy music as it is. You really have to admit. The Kpop scene was kinda dull and boring at the start of the year. Only SNSD was the known group who was active at the time. Now, SNSD has a chance to prove that their win wasn’t just luck. If they can prove it, I’ll have new found respect for them as artist and to their popularity. Well, at least in Korea.

First place was shared this week by three popular groups. 2pm won Mnet, 2NE1 won Music Bank, and just now, SNSD won Inkigayo for the second time. Music Bank just posted the ranking for their July 17 episode. It makes me wonder. Was their a mistake? They usually post it a few hours after the episode has concluded. Well, we don’t know. We just have to wait and see.

[Chart] Music Bank 2009/07/17

This chart is kinda late but what the hell, I’ll post it still. As all of you might have known by now, 2NE1 outpass SNSD this week. But only with a small margin.
